The version is 1.9.5, Kana no quiz, learn the Japanese alphabet and language. Kana no quiz is a little educational tool to memorize the transcription and pronunciation of Japanese kana (katakana & hiragana), presented as a quiz. It is written in Python and uses a GTK+ interface for a nice cross-paltform rendering.
