Create Synchronicity is an opensource application developed in VB.NET to synchronize files and folders across different locations.
It is aimed at making the synchronization process as easy as possible, and yet remains fully customizable.
Create Synchronicity is especially light: zipped, it weights less than 80kB, which is less than a fifth of Yahoo! Home Page. Unzipped, the application itself is less than 170kB, still beating Yahoo home page.
Suppose you have an MP3 player (say, running Rockbox), on which you want to synchronize you music. Suppose you download covers, add music, modify file tags frequently.
Clearly, it will be be no fun to memorize everything you modified and then use the wonderful Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V shortcut repeatedly. Nope, you need a powerful syncing solution.
Well, that's pretty much what Create Synchronicity is : an easy solution to backup, synchronize, copy files from one place to another. I designed Create Synchronicity because everything I had tried before had problems with some things I wanted to do. Some applications, for example, wouldn't let me choose which filetypes were to be included, or excluded. Some others would crash, because my musical library is quite huge (60 GB). Sometimes, I just didn't like the interface.
That's why I designed Create Synchronicity. To make things simple and still, highly customizable - in a friendly way.
