DBSourceTools is a GUI utility to help developers bring SQL Server databases under source control. A powerful database scripter, code editor, sql generator, and database versioning tool. Create a new project
1. Fire up DBSourceTools, and click File | New | Project.
2. Enter a Project Name, and a Base Directory.
* Note that this will create the <Project> directory, as well as a <Project>.dbsp file, and a <Project>.xml file in the base directory.
3. Click on the Database Button.
4. Specify a NickName for the database ( this can be anything you like), but I prefer Template_<DatabaseName>
5. Specify connection settings
* Note that these connection settings will be stored in <Project>.xml
6. Click "Test Connection"
7. Once the connection has succeeded, click OK.
8. You will be prompted to load the database.
9. Once all objects have been loaded from the database, the DBExplorer tree will be populated.
