Simulate animal life with the help of this tool. Design species of animals and plants, place some of them into a randomly generated world, and see how they survive and evolve as time goes on. Similar to the old Win 3.1 game SimLife, with more features planned.

Darwevo Features:
1. Create and manage an artificial eco system (harder than it sounds).
2. Species mutate with time leading to improved survivability.

How to run:
In Windows, double click on Darwevo.jar. Assuming you have a recent version of the Java run time environment (JRE), that should be sufficient to start the game.

How to play the game (less obvious):
There's not much you can do in the alpha version yet. When the game is started a random planet is generated. You can scroll the view around with the arrow keys on your keyboard. You can change the map mode in the View menu. Initially, maps like the temperature and moisture will not be very interesting (initialized to the same value). To have something happening, you'll have to start the simulation from the Run menu. That will start updating the world for a single step, continuously at a fixed speed, or at maximum speed (as fast as your CPU can run the simulation).
