Extended Clipboard 2 is a successor of the Extended Clipboard Classic. A complete rewrite of the Extended Clipboard Classic there are some changes in its basic functionality. Clips are no more stored on the harddisk. They can be exported or imported but during runtime they stay in the computers memory for faster access. An option to automatically save them on shutdown and to automatically import them on startup may be implemented later. There is currently no scripting language as nobody realy used ECSL in Extended Clipboard Classic.

ExtClip2 is much faster than the Classic version. The FastPaste menu works lightning fast and in many cases better than its predecessor. The pasted item stays active in the clipboard. ExtClip2 does not position the FastPaste menu at the current caret position as many modern applications start to implement the caret functionality themselves instead of using the standard functionality. This would result in the FastPaste menu opening at the wrong position.
