Falasol Timbre is an audio production and engineering software, help you easily generate and analyze sounds.

Reverse spectral engineering
A spectrogram is an image that shows how the spectral density of a signal varies with time (source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spectrogram). It also works other way round - having the spectral information you can reconstruct the initial audio signal (phase information is lost, it doesn't impact the perception). This is already proven by SPEAR project. Such synthesis technique is commonly used in MP3 compression.

Timbre model
Timbre is a set of parameters which describes a voice. Falasol is using Envelope + Spectrum sound model. You can imagine Spectrum as the color of the sound, while Envelope is the shape: Timbre = Envelope + Spectrum

Envelope
Envelope settings are responsible for overall modulations - Pitch changes (which are later passed to Harmonics) and final volume adjustments. In short the Envelope stands for all the operations done before and after Spectrum processing.

Spectrum
Spectrum is a composition of Harmonics. It is in fact the 'inner' part of sound - responsible for it's color.

Keypoints
Just like keyframes in the graphic animations, audio keypoints allow you to control the sound evolution over time. Keypoints are the control-marks evenly distributed along the time axis - existing on both Envelope and Harmonics. Each keypoint has assigned a set of attributes. By default each Envelope and Harmonic instance contain one keypoint which determines the settings for the whole item. With two keypoints you can control start & end values, with one more you can also adjust the middle, and so on. The values between the keypoints are linearly interpolated.
