FileBackup
|
FileBackup provides an automated mechanism for backing up files from your computer's hard disk to some other media (such as an external hard disk). FileBackup is automated because it will perform the backup task at a pre-configured Date and Time of your choosing.
The backup files are stored in the exact same folder and file structure as they are on your computer's "working" hard disk. This means that you can use the Microsoft Windows "My Computer" folder to peruse the files in the backup location in the same manner as you would your "working" files. This provides comfort in knowing that your files and folders are being successfully backed up.
FileBackup also provides a conventional way (i.e., no special software required) to restore your files in the event that your hard disk fails or your computer operating system fails. Once your computer operating system is restored, you just copy the files and folders from your backup storage to your newly installed "working" hard disk and you are back in operation.
The most important thing is having your files backed up. You can always acquire assistance in doing the restore if necessary.
How to Perform a Scheduled Backup:
ileBackup, initially, is configured to backup all of your "Documents and Settings" folder (including all the folders and files it contains). This setting is meant for those that do not have a good understanding of the location of important files on their computer that need to be backed up. This setting insures that your important files (e.g., your Email Address Book, your Web Browser Favourites, as well as others) will get backed up.
The Backup will now automatically occur at the specified Date and Time. If your computer should be powered off during the Backup period, a backup will be performed automatically when you next power on your computer.
Please Note: Does not backup files that are open by another application.
The license of this software is Free, you can free download and free use this data backup software.
