Fractron 9000
|
Render your fractal flames with this tool. Fractron 9000 is a GPU accelerated fractal flame renderer for Windows. Requires a video card that supports OpenGL 2.0 (OpenCL or CUDA recommended). Also Requires Microsoft .NET framework version 2.0.
It is a high performance fractal flame renderer for Windows. Fractron 9000 takes advantage of modern programmable graphics processors to dramatically speed up rendering. Users with either CUDA or OpenCL video hardware will be able to render fractal flame images in near real-time. Some example images created with Fractron are shown below.
Fractron 9000 can use OpenCL and CUDA to accelerate rendering. The user interface is written in C#, and communicates with OpenCL and CUDA via my own custom interoperability libraries. Fractron uses OpenGL to display the fractals, which will hopefully make it possible to port Fractron 9000 to non-Windows platforms in the future.
Features:
1. GPU accelerated renderer draws fractals almost instanty
2. Interactive editor updates fractals in real-time
3. Partial compatability with Apophysis and Flam3
4. Supports acceleration through OpenCL, CUDA, and OpenGL 2.0
When Fractron 9000 starts, you will see the current fractal in the main window. To pan the view, left click and drag. You can also use the middle mouse button to pan. To rotate and zoom, click and drag with the right mouse button. You can also zoom with the mouse wheel.
Requirements:
* A video card that supports OpenGL 2.0 (A card that supports either OpenCL or CUDA is recommended).
* Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7
* * NET Framework
