HaDES (HardDisk Encryption System) encrypt your hard drive, an enterprise, open source encryption tool for Windows Vista / XP, Mac OS X und Linux, which is developed by Logica based on TrueCrypt.

TrueCrpyt Main Features:
1. Creates a virtual encrypted disk within a file and mounts it as a real disk.
2. Encrypts an entire partition or storage device such as USB flash drive or hard drive.
3. Encrypts a partition or drive where Windows is installed (pre-boot authentication).
4. Encryption is automatic, real-time (on-the-fly) and transparent.
5. Provides plausible deniability, in case an adversary forces you to reveal the password:
6. Hidden volume (steganography) and hidden operating system.
7. Encryption algorithms: AES-256, Serpent, and Twofish. Mode of operation: XTS.

HaDES Additional Features:

HaDES expends TrueCrypt in that effect, more users have access to one volume or one systempartition with username and associated password. This pair of username and password is unique for each user and no secret have to be shared.

All funktionality, which are in TrueCrypt, can also be used with HaDES. Only the funktionalitiy for multiusers are added.

Brings a TrueCrypt encrypted volume, with partitions and all the systems themselves. The encryption and decryption is performed using a password. If multiple users have to work on the encrypted data, they have to share the password. This is a Vulnerability dar.

HADES TrueCrypt extended so that the system partition on volumes and more user access via a username and password. This user name / password Pair is unique per user and it has no secret to be shared. All functions that TrueCrypt offers can be used in Hades continue. There are only the functions with multi-user functionality added. The following is the deal with Hades is explained.
