Hash data from keyboard, file or CD/DVD. Hash function, one-way hash function or hash function is a function that assigns arbitrarily large number of (news) short, usually having a fixed size value (short messages).

In computing hash functions allow to determine short and easy to verify signatures for arbitrarily large data sets. Such signatures can protect against accidental or deliberately introduced modifications of the data (checksums), allow themselves to be persuaded or downloaded files from the Internet such as the ISO images are not damaged. Many pages shall be calculated in order to verify the shortcut (usually these are CRC32, MD5 or SHA-1). Hash functions are also applicable for optimizing access to data structures in computer software (hash tables), and are used in the digital signature.
