Internode Monthly Usage Meter
|
Monitor download usage for anyone on an Internode broadband plan. Internode Monthly Usage Meter (MUM) is a free Windows utility designed primarily to monitor download usage for anyone on an Internode broadband plan. Usage information is updated automatically every hour with data retrieved directly from Internode's webserver. (MUM does not monitor usage for dial-up users nor does she monitor usage for other internet providers.)
When MUM is running, an icon will appear in the notification area of the taskbar. This icon has a number under a coloured bar. This number usually displays how much of your download allowance you have left (as a percentage). However if the plan has no download limit, then the number will be the day of the month. The colour of the bar indicates whether your current downloading rate is within budget.
Most of this information should be self-explanatory but a number of items may need clarification:
1. Firstly, it is important to note that the displayed usage can be an hour or two behind actual usage.
2. Your Internode account billing cycle can start on just about any day within the calendar month, not just on the first day of the month.
3. The coloured bars at the top of MUM's Broadband page indicate how much of your allowance you have left relative to the number of days left in the current billing month.
4. The 'Relative to days left' value in the Metered Usage box indicates the number of megabytes you could download immediately without the coloured Amount Left percentage bar becoming shorter than the coloured Days Left percentage bar.
5. The 'Daily Averages' box can help you plan and adjust your downloading habits to suit your chosen plan.
