If the patterns are jerky while they are moving, rather than flowing smoothly, your computer is not powerful enough. You have some options to try to make KaleidoMorph perform better on your computer:
1. Try using a lower resolution (eg. 640 x 480) in the KaleidoMorph settings.
2. Make sure the "Draw double size particles" box is unticked.
3. Don't use a coloured background.
4. Upgrade your hardware.
You should also make sure that no other programs that use a lot of CPU power are running at the same time. These programs might include virus scanners doing a system scan, and so on.
It is best to set the KaleidoMorph resolution to the same resolution that you are currently running your desktop at. For example, if your screen is normally set to a resolution of 1024 x 768, you should set the KaleidoMorph resolution to the same. This is of course providing you haven't had to choose a lower resolution to boost performance as described above.
You can make music play when the screen saver is running. This music can be:
1. A single music track on your computer, such as an MP3 file
2. A playlist on your computer containing multiple tracks, such as those that you can create with Windows Media Player or Winamp
3. Music streamed from the internet
Many music formats are supported: mid, mp3, ogg, wav and wma. The following types of playlist files are supported: asx, m3u, pls, wax, wpl.
When KaleidoMorph is running, you can press certain keys to toggle various effects. Note that not all effects work with all patterns.
