Marshal Editor
|
Model driven Data Migration. Marshal is a tool for integrating, exporting, importing, migrating and archiving of data, and you can use Marshal with any ODBC compliant database. You model the structure of the information in the editor using a straight forward user interface that automatically retrieves the relevant schema information from your database.
Marshal is the ultimate software suite for model driven data migration and exporting. You can use Marshal with any ODBC compliant database. It brings simplicity and clarity to the troublesome task of extracting and compiling data from many sources. It helps you analyze your databases, import data definitions and to create the rules governing export, storage and import of your database information.
The Marshal Editor is the graphical user interface where you manage your export and inport rules. Marshal Editor automatically retrieves schema information from your databases, making structuring of the information highly efficient. Tables, views, columns and datatypes are automatically discovered. You can construct your own composed statements and you can collect data from and distribute data to multiple databases using a single model.
The Marshal SQLUtility is embedded in the Marshal Editor. It's a simple to use generic utility for ODBC databases. It allows you to test ODBC connections, execute statements and discover tables, views and columns. You can download and install the Marshal SQLUtility as a standalone application.
To create a Marshal Structure, follow these simple steps:
1. Create a new structure and in the property pane, enter the database connection string and select a table, view or composed statement (the Top Node holds the top level query for the export).
2. Retrieve columns for the Top Node (Right click on the node and select Retrieve Columns).
3. Add Sub Queries (Right click on the node and select New Query).
4. Retrieve Columns for the Query Node (Right click on the node and select Retrieve Columns).
5. Define the relation between the newly added Query Node and its parent (Select the relation property for the Query Node and click on the ellipsis button).
6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 until your structure is complete.
Limitations:
* Allows a maximum hierarchical depth of three when exporting
