PythonCAD

PythonCAD is a CAD package to help you with your work. PythonCAD is a CAD package written, surprisingly enough, in Python. The PythonCAD project aims to produce a scriptable, open-source, easy to use CAD package for Linux, the various flavors of BSD Unix, commercial Unix, and other platforms to which someone who is interested ports the program.
PythonCAD Features:
1. Draw points, lines, rectangles, circles, arcs, polygons, text
2. Draw fillets and chamfers
3. Draw dimensions
4. Styles: Linetype (solid, dashed), color, thickness
5. Move
6. Stretch
7. Rotate
8. Split
9. Layers
10. Open, Save in XML format, and Print drawings
11. Undo
12. Zoom in, out, window, fit, Dynamic pan and zooming
13. Select All by object type
14. Set preferences for Units, colors, line thickness, Object sizes, text and dimensions
15. Draw with the following units: micrometers, millimeters, Meters, Kilometers, Inches, Feet, Yards, Miles
16. Command line for entering commands
17. Dynamic snap
Before installing PythonCAD on a windows machine, you must install some third party libraries and modules. These are windows ports of the native Linux libraries.
The libraries that you will need to install are:
* GTK+ and its dependencies.
* PyGTK
* PyCairo
* PyGObject
Please note that there almost certain to be issues regarding to file saving and loading on the windows ports due to line-terminating differences. These will be worked out eventually.
