Quitter is a Twitter client that doesn't announce itself to the entire cube farm; it runs in a command window (or "DOS window"). There's no installer and no entries in the Start Menu; it will run from a thumbdrive. It's a single small EXE file (about 105k) and it stores its settings in a small XML file.

With Quitter, you can...
1. Read, post, reply and retweet.
2. Organize the people you follow into groups and read tweets by group.
3. Filter (or highlight) tweets from specific users or that contain certain #hashtags.
4. Use URL shorteners like TinyUrl.com for tweeting URLs.
5. Easily open tweeted links from other users in your default browser (no copy/paste needed)
6. Send and receive direct messages
7. Follow or unfollow other users

Quitter runs on Windows 2000/XP/Vista and requires Version 2.0 of the Microsoft .NET Framework or higher (version 2.0 was released in 2006; most Windows machines should have version 2.0 or higher).
Quitter is free (as in beer) and open-source and will always be both.

Quitter is designed to be as easy to use as possible, so there aren't a whole lot of keyboard commands to remember.
1. Read Me and My Friends - Press [ENTER] then [ENTER] again - Read All. This is how you read the tweets from the people you follow, just like you would do on the Twitter home page. Expert tip: Move your mouse close to the keyboard and tap the [ENTER] key twice with your thumb.
2. Read a Group - Press [ENTER] then [G] - Read a Group. If you have set up groups, this how you read the tweets from the members of that group. After pressing [G], press the hotkey for the group that you want to read. If you can't remember the hot keys, press [?] and Quitter will show them to you. For more information on groups, see Groups.
3. Read a User - Press [ENTER] then [U] - Read User. Quitter will retrieve the people you follow from Twitter and then let you choose whose tweets you want to read. Use the [UP ARROW] and {DOWN ARROW] keys to select the user, and then press [ENTER] to read their tweets.
