It's easy to start using RKS Fax
In most cases you can simply run the installation program and immediately start creating, sending and receiving faxes from your pc. If you do need to enter special modem codes or dialing instructions, RKS Fax provides a simple interface for adjusting it to your needs.
For Personal or Small Business.
RKS Fax is recommended for use as personal fax software, or small business fax software
RKS Fax installs a printer driver so that you can print-to-fax directly from Windows software, including Microsoft Word or any other Windows program. You do this simply by 'printing' to the RKS Fax printer, which creates a fax from your printout. (note: Quicken, Quickbooks and Paperport cannot use the RKS Fax Printer to create faxes)
Another way to create faxes is with your scanner. RKS Fax provides Scan-to-Fax for creating faxes by scanning pages with your scanner. Simply scan as many pages as you like using the scan-to-fax interface, and then send them to the Outbox as a new fax, ready to send.
You can also add a cover page to the fax.
For quick one-page faxes, you can just go into RKS Fax and create a cover page by itself with a short message.
Once a fax is created it is ready to be sent (transmitted). You can do this at any time, whenever it is convenient for you.
Outgoing faxes are stored in the Outbox, and may be viewed, printed and sent at any time. Once the fax is created, to send it simply click on the SEND button.
Faxes may be sent to traditional fax machines, as well as to other faxmodems.
RKS Fax uses the modem in your computer and a regular telephone line to send faxes. Most modems (99%) will work fine without any special setup.
Receiving Faxes
To receive faxes, RKS Fax must first be put into "receive mode". While it is in receive mode, it will answer all incoming calls, fax or not. If you plan to have RKS Fax constantly in receive mode, it is best to have a separate telephone line.
Received faxes are stored in the Incoming fax table and may be viewed and printed at any time. You can keep them for as long as you like, or delete them when no longer needed.
