Redact-It Desktop is a simple desktop tool using patent-pending technology to intelligently remove sensitive content and privacy information from documents. Redact-It creates a redacted PDF, TIFF, or CSF version of the file, leaving the source file untouched.
Redact-It Desktop software is designed to help you manually flag for redaction, verify, and publish large quantities of redacted document files quickly and easily. The interface is geared towards repeat processes and minimizing user actions to improve efficiency.

How Redact-It Performs Redactions:
Redact-It Desktop opens the original document file and allows the user to create Redactups (markings) on the file that denote areas of the document that will be redacted in the final step. Redactups indicate the areas to be redacted and appear transparent to allow a visual check to make sure the right content is marked for redaction.

To be able to redact Microsoft Office documents, you will need to first install the Microsoft Office application on your system before installing Redact-It Desktop. Without the Microsoft Office application installed, Redact-It Desktop only supports PDF, TIFF, and XPS file formats. In addition, CSF files that have had no Visual Rights set can be loaded.
