SI Trace is a Windows traceroute tool. Test communication with remote computer and determine which route the packets travel across an IP network between your PC and the remote host.

Determinate the route packets travel across an IP network with SI Trace tool. If you cannot connect to a computer over a network, there might be something wrong with the remote PC or with your Internet connection. Or your router might need a reset.

SI Trace will allow you to see exactly where the connectivity problem is, no matter how far it is from your computer. The last host to respond to traceroute is the last host that is working properly. The first one that fails to respond is the faulty one.

Usually you would get a response right in the console window in a matter of seconds. You get the response in a Spartan-looking black console window.
While theres nothing particularly wrong in using the supplied tracert.exe, we at Soft Institute wrapped the same thing into a much more convenient package.

SI Trace is part of Soft Institute's line of network tools, and integrates well with other products, such as SI Ping and SI Lookup. You can simply click on an IP address or Web name of any host that is pinged or traced in order to get information about the owner and location of that host.
