ScopeDriver is an expanded software interface for your Meade LX200 Classic, Autostar, Losmandy Gemini, or compatible astronomical telescope. ScopeDriver is much more than a computerized version of your telescope's hand control! This program actually expands the capabilities of your instrument, adding such features as:

Convenient "Find" interface to locate tens of thousands of sky objects by Common Name, Bayer/Flamsteed designation, Constellation, and much more.
1. The ability to connect to another copy of ScopeDriver over a network or the Internet, for remote telescope operation.
2. Support for serial camera controls, to manually or automatically perform one or a series of exposures. Camera control is supported by ScopeDriver's automated observing runs, which can automate sky surveys and observing patrols.
3. A Global Control Palette that makes many of ScopeDriver's advanced features available in any application program.
4. The ability to automatically "GoTo" orbiting bodies (such as comets and asteroids) as well as fixed sky objects, and to save these objects in a database for quick access.
5. The capability to download and load the latest comet and asteroid data.
6. The ability to store and select an unlimited number of Observing Sites with associated longitude, latitude, and name.
7. An integrated, searchable Observing Log, with customizable text file import and export options.
8. Observing List support, enabling you to define an unlimited number of Observing Lists. Open multiple Observing Lists, define list objects from within ScopeDriver, and import list objects from text files.
9. Interpolated Tracking, which allows you to set tracking rates on Meade telescopes to a much higher precision than the standard 1 10 Hz. provided by your telescope.
10. Customizable position and time readouts.
11. The ability to synchronize your telescope's clock with your computer's clock (both date and time).
12. Protective mechanisms to help avoid slews that could damage your instrument, mechanisms to delay motor reversals, etc.
13. Customizable "Night Mode" display to preserve your dark adaptation.
14. Simultaneous, non-modal readouts of current object, time, telescope position, alignment mode, reticle state, and much more.
15. Full keypad and mouse control of focus and slew motors, with compensation for mirror reversed and/or inverted eyepiece display.
16. And literally hundreds of other time savers and productivity enhancers.

Additional features made possible by the extended serial command set of the LX200 Classic model include:
1. Intuitive interface to locate all objects in the LX200 Classic's database.
2. Save terrestrial objects in a database, so that you may return quickly to these objects.
3. Speech output of objects currently in telescope's field of view, with a non-modal readout of field parameters.
4. Automatic tracking rate adjustment to match the type of object being viewed, as well as full tracking rate control from the Main Window.
5. And many other features tailored to the LX200 Classic.

Additional features when connected to a Losmandy Gemini Level 3 include the following:
1. The ability to transfer any Observing List to the telescope, providing the benefits of ScopeDriver's advanced list features while making a field computer connection optional.
2. The ability to specify separate slew rates for GoTo and manual operations.
3. Expanded tracking rate selection, taking advantage of the Gemini's broad tracking rate collection.
