ScriptBox
|
ScriptBox is a runtime environment for building C# and VB.NET applications with the ease of running a script from the command line. ScriptBox creates a powerful solution for managing source code files and provides a powerful runtime system to get the source code compiled and running. ScriptBox handles all the details of compiling, adding references to external DLLs, and keeping an eye on your running threads.
ScriptBox is a runtime environment that loads C# and VB.NET source code, compiles the code into a component, and starts the component on its own thread. Each running component is loaded into its own domain to protect the component from outside interactions within the application. ScriptBox provides a layer of APIs for the components to use for inter-process communication and a method to update components on the fly. The list of current ScriptBox APIs can be found on the XteNetX website.
ScriptBox uses a concept of message routing that is based upon the scope of the communication channel. If a component is communicating at the ScriptBox level, then the component would use a "Local" communication channel. Communications between two ScriptBox runtime environments, either on the same machine or different machines, would use a "Remote" communication channel.
