Play 150 solitaire versions, from classics like Klondike and Spider to big-layout historical games like Hemispheres and Zodiac. Use your own graphics for backdrops and cards, and program your own games with the XML Patience Definition language. The game works on all computers supporting Java SE; this is the Windows easy-install version with Windows Java runtime included, so no extra installs needed to get it working. Unrestricted single-player gameplay in the unregistered version. Registered users get multiplayer features, built-in BackdropMaker and DeckMaker tools, an integrated music player.
The game descriptions in the Games tab of the Options Window contain a short summary of each solitaire. Note that the "evaluation table" for each game is a highly personal author's assessment of the game, and these will be updated frequently as the author's opinions of the games change over time!
For what it's worth, this is how you should interpret the entries:
1. Difficulty: How hard it is to a) understand how the game works, and b) understand how to play it so as to maximize the chances of winning. I.e., a summary of "mental effort". Rated Easy, Medium, or Hard.
2. Gameplay Tilt: Whether the player's skill and experience has any significant influence on the outcome. Rated Skill, Balanced, or Chance.
3. Length: How long a round takes. Rated Short (a couple of minutes), Medium (about five minutes), or Long (about ten minutes or more).
4. Chance of Winning: The chances of winning a game. Rated Low (under 5%), Medium (about 5-15%), or High (over 15%).
