Why does logon take so long time than before? What are all those icons in the system tray? How do I stop programs from starting automatically? How do I get rid of that strange error that keeps cropping up during logon? We have probably heard these questions plenty of times, especially from Windows users who are working on new systems that came preloaded with applications or on older systems on which they have installed numerous programs over time. Seasoned users know that all above problem are almost raised by the startup programs. Upon installation, many applications configure themselves to start automatically when you log on. Applications do this so that they can automatically check for updates, because they use system tray icons to interact with users, or because they add functionality to Windows components such as Windows Explorer. However, most such applications do not ask permission before inserting themselves in our logon process and almost never provide an interface to let us disable their autostart functionality. If there is a powerful and easy to use utility that allows us to manage the startup programs in our operating system. Need not to look for it here and there. Thank for Jackass JoeJoe, the publisher of StartRight, the powerful and full-functions startup manager. With StartRight we can manage these startup programs according to our will.
StartRight will manage the execution of programs that are automatically started by the operating system at logon time. Instead of executing many programs at once (causing our OS to spit and sputter and attack our hard drive), StartRight will give the OS time to execute the program before running the next program. The OS should become much more responsive almost immediately after logon. Those of us that have a dozen system tray programs (and we know who we are), might want to give this a try. Move the program to its permanent home and run it. Just press the Install button and StartRight will do its thing the next time we logon. It is highly recommended that we place StartRight in our "Program Files" folder, especially on NTFS systems because of security defaults. For NT/2k/XP users, Windows by default requires Administrator rights to manipulate the system Run key and Startup folders (as well as StartRight keys). We can adjust those settings if we need StartRight to work for users with lower security rights. The key features and functions of StartRight include: Program executing ordering. Custom delays. Auto-Tune delays based on CPU usage. New item notification. Automatically disable all new programs. Pause or stop program execution. Note: Personal firewall software, like Norton Internet Security, will protect the system Run key and keep StartRight from managing it - and make it unable to function properly. StartRight cannot operate with this option set on our firewall software.
Overall, StartRight is a very nice, easy to use and full-functions startup manager. The developer of this software wanted to ensure ease of use for the average home user with its simple, clean, great looking interface, but included features for even the most demanding, experienced users. It is an ideal solution for us who need to manage the startup programs in our operating system.
In addition, StartRight is free for us and it does not contain any adware or spyware and we can use it safely and undisturbed. It works with most recent variants of Windows. What are you waiting for? Those of you that have a dozen system tray programs will like this little tool - it will manage the execution of programs that are automatically started by the operating system at logon time. Rather than starting everything at once, StartRight will set a delay between each program launch, allowing Windows to load faster and more efficient. The program will automatically configure all startup programs, so if you are a novice user, there is nothing for you to configure. Advanced users can optionally edit the startup order or exclude certain programs from the delayed start. StartRight supports your common startup folder entries as well as registry runkey items. All original settings can be restored to their previous state by clicking the restore button.
