SystemRescueCD, a free windows rescue tool, is a collection of utilities on a bootable CD or USB pendrive designed to rescue and repai a Windows PC after crash.
SystemRescueCd is an improvement of the gentoo live cd. It aims to provide an high quality bootable CD-Rom, with all system utilities that can be required to repair your system. SystemRescueCd is an improvement of the gentoo live cd. This windows rescue tool is basically a Linux system on a bootable CD or USB pendrive so it doesn't require Windows to start and is still able to read files from the Windows hard disk. SystemRescueCD is provides a temporary OS so that you could try to repair and rescue your crashed PC. Other than that, this windows rescue tool will also access the Internet in an attempt to find answers to any problems your windows PC is experiencing. Plus, this windows rescue tool also allows user to create and edit partitions of their hard drive. If using SystemRescueCD and all attempts have failed, then it is time to reach for your Windows Bootable USB pendrive and do a fresh install.

SystemRescueCd is an operating system by definition, though the primary purpose of SystemRescueCD is to repair unbootable or otherwise damaged computer systems after a system crash. SystemRescueCD is not intended to be used as a permanent operating system. SystemRescueCd runs from a Live CD or a USB flash drive. SystemRescueCd was designed by a team led by Francois Dupoux, and is based on the Gentoo Linux distribution.

System tools included in SystemRescueCD:
1. GNU Parted creates, resizes, moves, copies partitions, and filesystems (and more).
2. GParted GUI implementation using the GNU Parted library.
3. Partimage popular opensource disk image software which works at the disk block level
4. FSArchiver flexible archiver that can be used as both system and data recovery software
5. File systems tools (for Linux and Windows filesystems): format, resize, and debug an existing partition of a hard disk
6. Ntfs3g: enables read/write access to MS Windows NTFS partitions.
7. sfdisk saves / restores partition table (and more).
8. Test-disk tool to check and undelete partition, supports reiserfs, ntfs, fat32, ext2/3 and many others
9. Memtest+ to test the memory of your computer (first thing to test when you have a crash or unexpected problems)
10. Network tools (Samba, NFS, ping, nslookup, ) to backup your data across the network
