Charged objects force analysis made easy. Three Point Charges is an inquiry-based model for exploring the force between charged objects. In this simulation, you can investigate the idea of the force between charged objects. Initially, the simulation sets up three charged objects, one at each corner of an equilateral triangle. The charges have different magnitudes - your job is to rank the charges based on their magnitudes, from largest to smallest.
First, see if you can come up with a method to determine the ranking of the charge magnitudes when you are able to change the locations of the charges. Once you have done this, and you can correctly rank the charge magnitudes consistently, un-check the "Charges are draggable" button. Now see if you can come up with a new method of determining the ranking without moving the charges.
