Vox Proxy
|
Vox Proxy is a user-oriented authoring and playback system for scripting 3-D talking animated characters and other advanced multi-media features in Microsoft PowerPoint slide shows. For authoring, it works with PowerPoint 2000 or newer. For playback, it works with any version of PowerPoint as well as the free PowerPoint 2003 Viewer.
Though a PowerPoint add-in, the Vox Proxy menu appears in PowerPoint and allows you to create and edit your scripts side-by-side with your slides. Scripting is click-simple with Vox
Proxy's comprehensive Script Writer and Script Wizard.
Vox Proxy works through scripts that are saved in each slide of the presentation file. We give you some basics about scripts, and an introduction to character speech and animations. An extensive reference section provides details about each Vox Proxy script command.
Vox Proxy runs in PowerPoint 2000 or newer, including PowerPoint 2003. It does NOT run with PowerPoint 97. Vox Proxy runs as an add-in to PowerPoint 2002 (in Office XP) running under Windows 2000, NT, or XP. With PowerPoint 2002 running on Windows 9x or ME, Vox Proxy runs from the windows start/programs menu.
The Vox Proxy PLAYER (version 3) can run presentations under any version of PowerPoint from 97 on, as well as the Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 Viewer.
After installing the software, simply start PowerPoint and click on the Vox Proxy menu. Run one or more of the introductory tutorials. You can also open one of the sample presentations, open the Vox Proxy Script Writer, and examine the scripts. The Script Wizard will let you point and click to modify existing scripts or create your own.
From the Vox Proxy Menu, select "Tutorials". Select a tutorial (such as "Introduction to Vox Proxy) and click "Run" (or simply double-click your selected tutorial). This will start the presentation as a full-screen slide show. When the tutorial is finished, just press escape to end the slide show. You may interrupt a tutorial while it is running by pressing escape to end the slide show. You may run any tutorial directly from PowerPoint as follows:
1. Open the tutorial in PowerPoint by browsing the folder: Program Files\Vox Proxy\Presentations.
2. Turn Vox Proxy's Run Mode ON by clicking Vox Proxy|Run Vox Proxy with slide shows.
3. Start the slide show.
