|
XRay XML Editor is a free XML editing enviroment. Now in its second major release, XRay provides support for XML Schema (XSD) and an integrated online XML tutorial system.
As you type, parsing errors are listed so you always know if the document is correct. There is no need to parse your file, as it is parsed constantly as you create it. If you are new to XML or you are using another editor that requires parsing or validating as a separate step, you owe it to yourself to check out XRay. XRay has built-in support for W3C Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformation. XRay provides real-time transformation of XML structures, including HTML using XSLT. There is also a built-in HTML viewer for quick development of XML-based Web pages.
XRay is a learning tool for XML. XRay gives you instant feedback about the state of your XML document as you type. On each keystroke, XRay parses your document and tells you whether it is syntactically correct and, if not, what the errors are.
You can create three types of schemas:
1. Document Type Definition (DTD)
2. XML Data Reduced (XDR)
3. XML Schema Definition (XSD)
You can create XSLT programs for transformation or styling
1. XSLT transformation window performs transformations in real time
2. HTML viewing window shows results as they will appear in a browser
You can validate any document to DTD, XDR, or XSD schemas in real time
XRay XML Editor Features:
1. Real-time XML Editing
XRay is, first and foremost, a multi-window editor designed to help you learn XML syntax.
2. Real-time XSLT Processing
XSLT is a programming language that is optimized for transforming XML documents from one structure into another XML structure or into a non-XML structure. XRay provides a full implementation of W3C XSLT with real-time processing.
3. Real-time Schema Validation
In addition to XML syntax, XRay also helps you learn schema syntaxes by showing schema syntax and content errors in real time as you type.
4. Integrated Online Tutorials
XRay provides an interface to XML University (xmlu.com) online tutorials via the Help...HowTo menu item.
