ZSNES is a SNES/Super Famicom emulator for x86 computers. It runs on Windows, MS-DOS and Linux/FreeBSD and supports mode 7, sound, Super FX, and a lot more. ZSNES is hands down the best emulator I've ever used. It is (not surprisingly) a SNES emulator.

ZSNES also takes joypad input while not in focus. It's even possible with dual X to set it up close to full screen on the second screen while using the first for something else.

You simply download a rom, ZSNES will then do the rest. It runs on Windows, DOS and Linux and does support mode 7, sound, and Super FX.
