cwTBK is written by Edward Cree, M0TBK (formerly M3TBK), and is distributed under the GNU GPL version 3 (or later). This means (roughly) that you are free to share copies and make modified versions, but any modified version you distribute must be accompanied by source code. A free Morse (CW) decoder for Unix-like systems (and Windows). Uses the SDL framework for graphics.

There are many options controlling cwtbk's behaviour, and choosing good values involves considerable knowledge of how cwtbk works. Hence the second way to run cwTBK: a script containing suitable default settings, called arun.sh. Assuming you have arecord, you just enter ./arun.sh at your shell prompt, and cwTBK should start up with appropriate settings. If you don't have arecord on your system (and cannot obtain it), you will need to modify the script to use whatever similar program is available to you.
