Kephra is a easy to use text editing tool. Kephra is aimed to create the Text Editor you ever wished to use for writing, coding, scripting etc. A piece of software that covers all your needs and looks like and behaves like you want it. It should uncage you creativity and make it possible to share with others in a self-determined manner.

Kephra Features:
1. Starter: Can be started from any directory with files to open as arguments.
2. Configuration: Menubar, Toolbar & Contextmenu are customizable via xml or conf files. You can easily open all config files over the config menu. The changes can be activated with the reload command or automaticly while saving. Only highlighting color schemes are activated when you resart the program. Your Configuration can also be exportet, imported to other files. Even if backups of your current settings fail the editor start with build in emergency settings.
3. Localisation: The program is translated into german and can also easily translated into other languages, only by translating one text file (and still some xml files). The language of the program can be changed on the fly.
4. File Coding: UTF handling can still cause problems, differen encodings are not yet suportet
5. Line Endings: UNIX, WIN, MAC text files reads the editor seamless and they can be converted via menu or automaticly. The editor can recognize the file type and produces adapted lineendings while editing.
6. Large Files: are no major problem, a 170MB text file was loaded on a 1300MHz, 160GB HDD winxp in 30 sec., scrolling never hangs, converter functions need always a half minute minimum
7. File Functions: new, open, open all from dir, insert, reopen, reopen all, save, save as, save copy as, rename, save all, close(this, others, all - averything without save too)
8. File Sessions: open, add, and save current file session with all properties and import and export SciTE sessions
9. Normal Editing: cut, copy, paste, replace(selection and clipboard), delete, select all
10. Edit History: undo, redo, fast undo, fast redo, jump to start, jump to end, delete history, undo is only limited by memory size
11. Move Selection: when you hold the Ctrl and Alt-Key, the selected text can be moved with the cursor keys and PageUp and PageDown
12. Line Editing: cut, copy, double, delete, delete left, delete right, move up, move down, move page up, move page down
13. Format: indent, dedent, tab indent, tab dedent, align on first line, join lines, wrap lines, blockformat (both on right margin or selectable width)
14. Comment: add, remove and toggle linecomment, add and remove streamcomment(XML and C style)

19. Help: There is a keyboardmap, an info box, and some sporadic texts there is no larger help yet, but we will improve it
20. Statusbar: shows caret(textcursor) position (absolut and in percent), length of selection, current syntaxstyling, tab mode, end of line mode , help information or informations about the document
