NoLedge - Note taker and knowledge database, serve as an academic or general notebook. This open-source freeware is designed to serve as an academic or general notebook. It includes a simple and (hopefully) user-friendly interface and allows the creation of "notes", similar to articles in Wikis. It is also meant to be used as a reference management software, and further version will include more bibliography features.
NoLedge Features:
1. Tracking of complete references using a format similar and compatible with the BibTeX format
2. Ability to subdivise your notes and to include them in other notes
3. Hierarchical tagging of notes allowing many-to-many relationships
4. Two way linking of notes through "relations"
5. Hyperlinking of external URL and linking between internal notes
6. Automatic tracking of the date of last modification & daily history of modifications
7. LaTeX equation rendering
8. Advanced search
9. Formatting (limited to the basics to avoid needless crowding of the users interface)
10. Minimal table & image support
11. Statistics on database usage
How to use:
First, you need to understand the concept of the program. "Notes" are the basic element, and can be refered to by one or more "Titles". You create a new note by clicking the "Add Note" button on the top left corner of the window and by entering a new title, or simply by entering a new title in the main title box (just to the right of the "Add Note" button) and pressing the "Enter" key on your keyboard.
