Sky Navigator

View the current star positions from your location. Sky Navigator is a small utility that can provide you with details about star positioning, solar system view, ephemeris data for the planets, moon and sun, star map etc.
This is an astronomy program which provides in essence the following functions:
1. Star Maps with equatorial and horizontal Merkator projections
2. Edit provided Star databases (SAO, YBS, NGC, Messier, Pulsars)
3. Set your location (longitude/lattitude)
4. Time synchronization and animation
5. Calculate your current local star time
6. Track the objects within the database to get right ascension/declination as well as azimut/altitude
7. Calculate the ephemeris data of the planets, sun and moon
8. Top and side view of the solar system
9. Watch a top and side view of the Jupiter moons
10. Select comets and asteroids you want to track
11. Find objects
12. Retrieve detailed object information
Installation:
There is no installation necessary. Just un-compress the ZIP file where ever you want and start SkyNavigator.exe.
START
After starting "skynav.exe" you will be asked for your location. There are a couple of locations already available which you can extend in the location.db by using the "EDIT DATABASE" function.
In a next step SkyNav will ask you for date and time as well as the daylight saving status.
You can simply get your computer system time by clicking the button "GET SYSTEM-TIME".
Both Location as well as date and time can be changed when ever you want by using the functions grouped under the "Input" menu.
The license of this software is Freeware, you can free download and free use this calculator software.
