DNA restriction analysis made easy. gCut is a tool for restriction analysis in a DNA sequence. gCut will find the restriction sites of a given enzyme (tetra and hexa enzymes only) and performs the cut. gCut is written in python, compatible with FASTA format sequences, and can analyse sequences of any size.

For circular DNA use gCut HC (for hexa enzymes), and gCut TC (for tetra enzymes). For linear DNA use gCut L (works with both tetra and hexa enzymes). When launched, the program will ask you for the sequence's file name and location (I.e: C:\gCut1.0\sequence.fna (since we work with FASTA format the extension of the file is *.fna), and this file should contain only the sequence nothing else (the title should be deleted) and of course the sequence must be in FASTA format.
